Efektivitas Kepolisian Dalam Pemberantasan Tindak Pidana Judi Online Di Indonesia

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of law enforcement, particularly the police, in combating online gambling crimes in Indonesia and to evaluate the factors influencing the success of law enforcement efforts. The research employs a normative and empirical juridical approach using a descriptive-qualitative method. Data were obtained through literature studies of relevant laws and scholarly sources, as well as interviews with law enforcement officers and affected communities. The findings indicate that the rise of online gambling is driven by digital technology access, weak social control, low legal literacy, and economic and psychological pressures on individuals. Law enforcement efforts by the police face significant challenges, including limited digital forensic capabilities, suboptimal inter-agency coordination, and insufficient public participation. In conclusion, the effectiveness of the police in combating online gambling remains limited due to resource constraints, inadequate adaptive regulations, and low public legal awareness. Therefore, it is recommended to strengthen the investigative capacity of law enforcement, update regulatory frameworks to specifically address online gambling, and enhance legal education and digital literacy among the public as preventive measures.
